Christine Blasey Ford: Kavanaugh Accuser Comes Forward

Anita Hill Calls for an Investigation into the Allegation of Sexual Abuse Against Brett Kavanaugh

Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct has reportedly spoken to The Washington Post on record about her experience.

"Maybe she did not understand what she should do with confidential information, and while I'm not absolutely criticizing her on that, if I'd had that information, I think that I would have treated it differently", Waters said.

Feinstein told Kavanaugh on September 5, "I'm sorry for the circumstances, but we'll get through it".

Even after Feinstein sent the allegation to the FBI, Senate Democrats weren't littering the news with calls to denounce Kavanaugh.

Ford had been contacted by at least one reporter since the news started to come out, and she said she wanted to fully tell her story rather than see it leak out in pieces. It contains as much detail as could be expected of an incident that took place three and a half decades ago, and there is no doubt that she and Kavanaugh shared a broad social circle. From there, she claims she was pushed into a bedroom and on top of a bed, where she said Kavanaugh attacked her, groping her and trying to pull off her clothes and a one-piece bathing suit, all while holding his hand over her mouth so she couldn't scream. She says she was anxious he might "inadvertently kill" her as he allegedly covered her mouth with his hand to stop her from screaming.

Ford said to The Washington Post, "I thought he might inadvertently kill me".

"I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation", Kavanaugh said in a statement released by the White House. She said if anyone was going to tell her story, she wanted to be the one to tell it.

Ford initially sought to keep her identity private.

Then a law professor at the University of Oklahoma, Hill testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee that she had been sexually harassed by Thomas when she worked with him at the Education Department and Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

The woman sent the letter about the allegation to Democratic Congresswoman Anna Eshoo of Palo Alto, and the letter was sent to the office of Sen. He denied those allegations and was confirmed.

"Now I feel like my civic responsibility is outweighing my anguish and terror about retaliation", Ford told the Post.

The classmate said of the allegation, 'I have no recollection of that'.

The Washington Post reports that Ford has already submitted to a polygraph and passed.

According to a Politico report, "A lawyer close to the White House said the nomination will not be withdrawn", no matter what.

But now Ford's decision to put her name behind the accusations - made after weeks of reluctance - will nearly certainly intensify the push by Democrats to delay Kavanaugh's Senate confirmation vote. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) also said that at a minimum, the vote should be postponed until Ford's claims are investigated. In defense, Kavanaugh and Judge have offered only a blanket denial.
