Robben, who has played alongside Boateng in six title-winning Bayern teams, indicated that he would be disappointed to see the World Cup victor leave the club.

"We will see", the 34-year-old said.

The reigning French league champions Paris St Germain and their German coach Thomas Tuchel are said to be interested in signing Boateng. There are reports that there are negotiations going on behind the scenes between Boateng's management and PSG.

The 2017-18 German champions are rumoured to be demanding a 50 million euro ($57 million) transfer fee.

Boateng was linked with a move to Manchester United over recent days, but Old Trafford boss Jose Mourinho has told reporters he does not expect any incomings as Premier League clubs prepare to conclude business ahead of a 17:00 BST deadline.

Pundits say Boateng is interested in joining PSG and has rejected an offer made by Manchester United.

Bayern face Eintracht Frankfurt away in the Super Cup on Sunday before the German Cup begins next weekend and they start the Bundesliga at home to Hoffenheim on August 24.

"Jerome Boateng is one of the best defenders in the world for me", Robben said at the conclusion of Bayern's training camp at Rottach-Egern on Thursday.

"We've had success with him a lot in the past and I know him very well". "We have a lot of quality in the team. He is one of the world's best, and we need his physical presence on the pitch".
