Britain to request extradition of suspected Novichok attackers from Russian Federation

Dawn Sturgess and Charlie Rowley were both treated for Novichok poisoning and Ms Sturgess later died More

The UK intends to submit a request to Moscow to extradite two Russians suspected in the attack scout Sergei Skripal and his daughter with the help of a "Beginner", according to the with reference to the channel 112.

Police officers in protective suits and masks work near the scene where former double-agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter, Yulia were discovered after being attacked with a nerve-agent on March 16, 2018 in Salisbury, England. Russian Federation denies any involvement in the attack.

Russian Federation has previously rejected similar extradition requests.

The Crown Prosecution Service prepared the extradition request and has completed the process for filing, the sources said. The Russian embassy in Britain said it had not received an official request from London. It's nearly a rerun of the situation.

They were found in a serious condition on a bench in The Maltings shopping centre, and the discovery of the substance sparked a city-wide investigation with police having to cordon off large areas, including where they had eaten dinner that evening. She had been in hospital for eight days.

In 2007, President Vladimir Putin rejected an extradition request for two Russians suspected of the assassination of the former FSB officer Alexander Litvinenko in London using radioactive polonium.

The row has led to tit-for-tat diplomatic expulsions between the United Kingdom, its allies and Russian Federation. Moscow has repeatedly denied any involvement and accused British intelligence agencies of staging the attack to stoke anti-Russian hysteria.

Both survived, but on June 30 a British couple were poisoned by Novichok in a nearby town, one of whom, 44-year-old mother-of-three Dawn Sturgess, subsequently died. Mr Rowley recovered but Ms Sturgess died last month.

Rowley said he had found a perfume bottle which he gave to Sturgess, which she sprayed on her wrists.
