Video shows wild fight break out in Brooklyn nail salon

Salon women fighting

It's hard to tell who instigated the violence, but it appears to be the workers at the nail salon who are dealing the most force.

A video showing the Friday night incident was posted to Facebook by a customer who watched the melee at New Red Apple Nail in East Flatbush.

Calls to close a Brooklyn nail salon are growing louder Monday, days after video was shared online apparently capturing employees attacking patrons with brooms, dust pans and, allegedly, acetone.

The video shows salon employees striking one woman with a broomstick until she's able to flee out the front door.

"So I'm at the nail salon and they.[expletive]. up a lady eyebrow and she refused to pay then a fight broke outttt", she wrote, including the salon's address. Maduka, who originally posted the video, wrote on Facebook, "Share this cause the cops made a decision to arrest the black people but not the Chinese people who ganged up on them".

"She said she didn't like it and doesn't want to pay for nothing", Lin is quoted as saying.

According to the nail association, an employee told them Thomas refused to pay for any of the other services she received, telling CBS New York that the altercation could have easily been avoided.

According to Pix 11, Zhing faces charges of misdemeanor menacing, misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon and harassment, while Thomas faces charges of misdemeanor assault, misdemeanor menacing and harassment.

The nail salon closed early Monday due to the protests.

'That's my grandmother, stop, ' the granddaughter yells - and the onslaught begins to calm down as the woman shouts: 'Call the cops!' Thomas refused medical treatment, according to police. (If the) police say you pay for the pedicure, then you pay for the pedicure.

Meanwhile, the Facebook page for New Red Apple Nail salon has been flooded with negative reviews and backlash over the incident.

"There is no respect for people in this neighborhood", said 49-year-old Gavin Gibbs, a neighborhood resident, the New York Daily News reported. "If you pay for a service and you don't like a service, it's a $5 eyebrow. We need to start supporting our own & run them out of our communities!"
