'The Brady Bunch' house hits the market

‘Brady Bunch’ House For Sale – But May Be Torn Down

The house thats featured in the opening and closing scenes of The Brady Bunch is now up for sale.

The home's listing calls it the second-most photographed home in the United States after the White House, and has kept a bulk of its '70s aesthetic and charm.

The Traditional-style home located near Los Angeles' Colfax Meadows neighborhood, is listed for $1.885 million, the Los Angeles Times reported. Current owners George and Violet McCallister bought it for $61,000 in 1973. The three Brady sisters would have surely fought over that room. Other vintage elements include a built-in MusiCall intercom system and a whole-house radio.

You can nearly hear Jan whining, "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia".

The story continues for a house Americans used to visit every week.

Who Was "The Brady Bunch" Star in the Live Version of 'Grease?'

According to the show's creator Sherwood Schwartz, the home was picked because of its "middle class look", in a 1994 interview Schwartz said, "We didn't want it to be too affluent, we didn't want it to be too blue-collar. Emails, telephone calls - we may see upwards of 500 calls a day", Carswell told the Times.

However, Carswell said, the couple's children, who are selling the house, are giving preference to buyers who intend to preserve the iconic home as it is.

Ernie Carswell, the listing agent for real estate firm Douglas Elliman, told the Los Angeles Times that they are bracing for a flood of interest, and will only be showing the home on an appointment basis in an attempt to separate the buyers from the curious. But fans hoping to snap a selfie out front may want to make their pilgrimage sooner rather than later, as Deadline reports several developers, who would potentially see the house demolished, are eyeing the lot.
