Woman rescued week after auto plunges off cliff in US

Rescue workers attend to Angela Hernandez after she

Deputies from the Monterey County Sheriff's Office found 23-year-old Angela Hernandez of Portland at the bottom of a cliff along California's coastal Highway 1 near Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. She is recovering at a hospital in Templeton after the dramatic rescue Friday night.

Authorities were alerted by a couple who spotted the woman's white Jeep and heard her cries for help Friday evening, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.

She was in a fair and stable condition but appeared to have suffered a concussion, the California Highway Patrol said.

An extensive, days long search for a missing OR woman ended in an incredible rescue off the Big Sur coast this weekend, according to a report by KION 5 in Monterey.

A woman has survived a week by drinking water from her car's radiator after plunging 200ft down a sheer cliff at a California beauty spot when she swerved to avoid an animal. She says she met so many attractive people for her rescue and help bringing her up the cliff.

Her sister, Isabel Hernandez, wrote: "My sister is alive, she's talking, and she's still trying to come to understand everything".

Sheriffs said she had told her sister she would stay overnight in a vehicle park before continuing her journey the next morning, but they had not heard from her after 6 July.

To stay hydrated, Hernandez reportedly used a radiator hose from her vehicle to siphon water from a nearby stream. It's not going to be an easy recovery.

'In her accident, she has lost everything.

The family had set up a GoFundMe page to pay for some of the search efforts, including helping them with hotel stays and petrol. Including her auto, which was her livelihood.

"I just want to thank everybody that helped", Hernandez's sister, Isabel Hernandez told KGO, according to the paper. She says she met so many attractive people, ' Isabel added on Facebook thanking everyone who aided in the search and rescue effort.

"This is very traumatic and will be a slow recovery process".
