While coastal areas can expect cooler conditions, overnight lows will struggle to fall between 18 or 19 C degrees.

A cool down is finally expected by Friday as a cold front moves in.

The adopted criteria includes a daytime temperature of 29 degrees Celsius or higher and nighttime temperature of 16 degrees or higher or a humidex of 36 degrees Celsius or higher.

We could also see a cold front Monday afternoon, which will bring a cooler and less humid air mass. "Extreme heat affects everyone".

The recent heat wave has plagued central Pennsylvania with highs well into the 90s.

Sudbury has been under a heat warning since Friday.

Last Thursday, the agency issued a heat warning for the Canada Day long weekend, calling the upcoming heat wave "the most significant heat event" Ontario has experienced in the last few years.

According to Environment Canada, the daytime high in Toronto will be 31 C on Tuesday, 32 C on Wednesday, and 32 C on Thursday.

Isolated adults, seniors, young children, people experiencing homelessness and people with certain mental health illnesses, chronic illnesses, heart and lung issues or limited mobility are at greater risk of heat-related illnesses.

The hot temperatures and high humidity are expected to persist through at least Thursday, Environment Canada said. "And also keep in mind to make sure you don't leave any people or pets in your auto, as temperatures will rise dramatically within minutes".

Southern Ontario is under an extreme heat warning with humidex values skyrocketing to 43 degrees. Watch for the effects of heat illness: swelling, rash, cramps, fainting, heat exhaustion, heat stroke and the worsening of some health conditions.
