Instagram Logo On Phone Screens

Instagram is adding a feature which allows users to implement soundtracks in Stories. Music can be chosen based on mood, genre, and more, and can be added before recording or afterwards.

For the time being, music will be available only in select countries, but Instagram plans on making the feature worldwide in the future. With these, you can either add music before or after you capture a Story.

The feature is available today in Australia, New Zealand, France, Germany, Sweden, the United Kingdom and the U.S.A., with more countries coming. The feature users can now add music on to their photo or video stories directly from the app.

Another day, another new feature addition to Instagram. Additionally, the option to choose a song before capturing video is now only available on iOS platform, with Android rollout expected soon.

Whichever way a user chooses to go, a sticker for the song playing will be added to the Story. It's also possible to choose a song before capturing video.

Mashable are reporting that the new feature will be rolling out on iOS and Android from today (Thursday 28 June), so all you may need to do is update the app on your phone, and you're set!

Instagram has also used this announcement to brag about the fact that Stories have reached 400 million daily active users.

The feature is now available only in a few selected countries and Instagram is working towards launching the feature in more countries.
