Body of woman found after alligator attack

The lake at the nature park is sprawling and one of many. Earlier this week another local reported seeing a'7ft alligator swimming in

Wildlife officials say they are conducting an investigation into Matsuki's death.

FWC believes the victim is dead and will continue recovery efforts.

While alligator attacks are uncommon, they are not unheard of.

Matsuki, who lived in the nearby city of Plantation, was seen by a witness walking two dogs near the lake at the park on Friday before she suddenly vanished.

Authorities identified the woman who was attacked by the alligator as Shizuka Matsuki, 46. She was walking her dogs near the water when she was pulled in. Dale Engle told the newspaper.

"It's sad to hear someone got hit by the gator". The woman's dogs wouldn't leave the pond, said police, who confirmed the woman's identity. Authorities captured an alligator in a Florida pond after a witness' report led police to believe the animal may have dragged a woman into the water.

Authorities closed the park Friday.

Broward County Animal Care officers, the Broward medical examiner, and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission have also arrived at the scene.

"He doesn't even know if she's still alive or not", the man said.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said the risk of a Florida resident being seriously injured during an unprovoked alligator incident in the state is roughly one in 3.2 million.

And this has happened in a place which is famous for picnics and dog-walking.

Three trappers had been hired in the past 18 to 24 months to try to capture the gator, Davie's assistant parks director said. You can see them. Feeding wild alligators is illegal because they could lose their fear of humans. Alligators can be found in all 67 counties.

Between 1948 and previous year, there were 401 people bitten by alligators, including 24 fatalities, the commission has said.

In June 2016, a Nebraska toddler who was visiting a Disney resort in Orlando was grabbed and killed by a gator at one of the resorts lakes.
