Israel orders PA to pay $1.4m in damages for Gaza kites

The Latest: Palestinian killed trying to breach Israel fence

Since March 30, Israeli troops have killed more than 120 Palestinians during mass demonstrations along the Gaza border, drawing worldwide condemnation.

Israeli soldiers use live ammunition against civilians who demand going back to their towns and villages in old Palestine and an end to the illegitimate blockade Israel has imposed on Gaza since 2006.

One Israeli army vehicle was sacked on, and Palestinians planted a grenade that exploded on the Israeli side of the fence, the military said.

Soldiers 'fired towards the terrorists, killing one of them, ' it added.

There were no Israeli casualties in any of these incidents.

At least 122 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire since March 30, the first day of the ongoing Palestinian "Great March of Return" rally against Israel's crippling blockade since 2007 and the USA embassy move to the disputed holy city of Jerusalem.

Israeli authorities have reiterated that they hold Hamas ultimately responsible for all events that transpire in the Gaza Strip, and accused the group of attempting to "turn the area next to the security fence into a violent zone".

There was no immediate Palestinian confirmation.

Israel says many of those killed were Hamas members and militants trying to breach the border and launch attacks under cover of the protests.

No Israelis have been killed.

We also speak with Najjar's cousin, Dalia al-Najjar, who says the response of the worldwide community to the Gaza crisis has been "really disappointing", and notes the USA vetoed a draft United Nations resolution urging the protection of Palestinians on Friday, the same day Najjar was killed.

More than 2 million Palestinians are packed into the narrow coastal enclave.

Since April, tens of thousands of people have protested the Israeli-Egyptian blockade of Gaza and have demanded the right to return to land that now sits inside Israel.
