Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey heads to Greece, if we believe this keychain

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey leaks: is this the sequel to Origins?

The next chapter in Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed franchise has seemingly leaked by a new line of Ubisoft merchandise, namely a keyring featuring the logo for Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Origins did a lot of things that changed the status quo for Assassin's Creed, including reworked combat and the removal of a minimap.

Kotaku's sources also confirmed that Assassin's Creed Odyssey is set for release in Ubisoft's fiscal 2019, which ends March 31, 2019. Fortunately, that rumor doesn't rule out Assassin's Creed: Odyssey having a presence at E3 2018, especially after the Canadian Walmart leak.

It's strictly a rumor at this point, but two consecutive, consistent reports-not to mention the fact that ancient Greece is obviously fertile soil for an Assassin's Creed game-makes it a reasonably solid one. It seems to have been the right decision, as Assassin's Creed Origins was well-received when it hit PS4, Xbox One and PC a year ago.

Assassin's Creed has been the subject of some of the most frequent (and occasionally abstract) leaks of any major video game franchise over the past several years, so we're immediately inclined to believe this is legitimate. Naturally, speculation about the next game began nearly immediately, but Ubisoft has yet to say anything concrete about it. As soon as more is learned about Ubisoft's next title, whether it be Assassin's Creed: Odyssey or not, we will let you know, Ranters!
