Barkley makes insane Warriors-Rockets prediction following Game 1

Why 1 Vegas casino is already paying out bets on Warriors

Golden State finished the night with a 36-26 fourth quarter to put the Rockets away, winning a pivotal Game 1 to set the tone for the rest of the series.

"Anybody who thinks the Rockets are gonna win a game or win the series is an idiot".

"You know they are going to come out with a lot of energy", Durant said.

After halftime, the Warriors came out and took control, as they often do in the third quarter. Thompson also recovered a loose ball, and hit a near-dagger 3-pointer to give Golden State a 10 point lead with 3:55 remaining.

Following the Warriors' 119-106 Game 1 victory over Houston, the TNT analyst has changed his initial prediction for the best-of-7 series.

Kevin Durant was ruthless.

Kevin Durant scored 37 points in the Western Conference showdown. Golden State went to KD over and over on the block, and he knocked down a bunch of tough jumpers en route to 37 points on 14-of-27 shooting. "Can live with that (Durant), but you can't live with that and make mistakes". In fact, Curry hit 8-of-15 shots from the field. The Rockets chose not to double off of any shooters, and they paid the price.

Insane enough, Durant only had three rebounds, one assist and a block. All the same, falling down 0-2 to the Warriors, who'd still have three games at Oracle Arena, would leave the Rockets with a massive deficit to overcome in order to reach the NBA Finals. He constantly hunted out switches, with Curry and Kevon Looney the usual targets. "We are not getting the same calls".

Harden had his entire team clear out to watch him dribble 15 times and then try to beat his man off the dribble. Golden State needed to survive the early emotional salvo from the Rockets, with Houston dashing to a 12-4 lead behind eight points from Harden. The Rockets were working very hard for every look at the basket, while it looked too easy for the Warriors as they feasted on cuts and kick outs. Harden, though, was already there, and the two walked right into each other.

As good as Harden's game was, the Rockets ended up having one significant problem. "We need to do a better job of staying up mentally". Houston's Chris Paul had 23 points, 11 rebounds and 3 assists, and Capela had 12 points and six rebounds.

While Paul will likely be better, there are more questions about Houston's other guys. At times, Luc Mbah a Moute or P.J. Tucker was stuck to Durant like a mirror image. Gerald Green's defense was torched, while Ryan Anderson and Nene were non-factors.

With every made shot, defensive stop and foul, the Warriors and Rockets showed in 48 minutes why this became an anticipated playoff matchup for almost 10 months.
