Mark Hughes urges Southampton to make quick decision on new permanent manager

West Brom Interim Coach Moore Beats Pep, Mourinho To EPL April Manager Of Month Award

Stoke City manager Paul Lambert says that everyone at the club let themselves down over their relegation to the Championship. Even that would probably not be enough with a nine-goal swing required to topple Southampton - but with the Saints facing Manchester City, Carvalhal will retain a small amount of hope of pulling off the impossible before he departs.

There are unlikely to be too many pasteis de nata on offer when Carlos Carvalhal holds his final press conference as Swansea City manager tomorrow.

Swansea are at home to already-relegated Stoke on the final day.

"If the club do a statement or the chairman talks to me and there is a decision, it will be a reality".

"That made things hard for us, but we never complained". It's still raw for everybody connected with the club and it's really disappointing that we go down but there's a really good chance to rebuild it and strip it back.

"It's a sad day obviously, but this season has been very hard for me".

Due to the goal difference it could all but seal Swansea's fate. If we still believe then we can stay (in the Premier League), we must do our part on the weekend and win the game.

But according to the report by BBC, it is understood that Swansea board have decided not to renew Carlos Carvalhal's contract at the end of the season.

"The club has tried to do things on the cheap, bring players in on the cheap". Swansea's seven-year spell in the top flight is all but over and it remains a very real possibility a summer of upheaval lies ahead at the Liberty.

"This is the last game of the most incredible season and it's been a campaign that surpassed everyone's expectations".

The Saints have a much better goal difference than many of those around them at -18, meaning there is a now a nine-goal swing between them and the Swans who sit on -27.

This is also the first final-day Premier League meeting between two teams starting the day in the bottom three since Derby County faced Reading in 2007-08.
