'Brooklyn Nine-Nine' Has Several Potential Saviors, Including Hulu

Brooklyn Nine-Nine

There could be life left in one of the cleverest shows out there, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, yet.

Fans are now calling on other networks as well as Hulu, Amazon and Netflix to help save the show.

The abbreviated 13-episode pickup comes a day after Fox shockingly canceled the Universal Television-produced single-camera comedy after five seasons.

The news about Brooklyn Nine-Nine's cancellation was revealed on Thursday after it was reported that FOX's American police sitcom had not been renewed for a sixth season despite a rise in ratings. Netflix, NBC and TBS also spoke with Universal TV, which produces the series, to see if the series was up for grabs.

"Hulu, Brooklyn Nine-Nine's SVOD home, is considered the most likely choice, and I hear there had been conversations about the show moving there". Fortunately it might find a saving grace with Hulu, Netflix, and more.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine fans late Thursday called for Netflix or Hulu to swoop in and save the show from its fate; even some of the show's cast members urged fans to reach out.

And let's just say that Twitter was not pleased. Hulu now holds the show's streaming rights, and has previously picked up Fox's The Mindy Project after it was canceled in 2015.

"Another potential home for Brooklyn Nine-Nine could be TBS, which in December picked up off-network rights to the comedy". The show is clearly one of the best comedies on TV right now.

Fox trimmed their comedy slate with their cancelations, also cutting the cord on Will Forte's Last Man on Earth and Kaitlin Olson's The Mick. Some episodes are free, others you'll need a cable login in order to watch.

Ever since the revival of Arrested Development several years ago, fans have viewed streaming services as the saviors of beloved TV shows from cancellation hell. Change.org petitions to save the show have already garnered thousands of signatures, and the cast and crew have taken to Twitter to thank the fans for their support.
