AT&T CEO - We made 'big mistake' hiring Cohen, chief lobbyist out

Michael Cohen Donald Trump's personal attorney is under criminal investigation

A Republican strategist who spoke with CNN said that Cohen would tell clients that they should "fire" their current lawyers and hire him because "I'm closest to the President".

His lawyer, Stephen Ryan, filed a 24-page motion with U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood seeking that Avenatti not be allowed to appear in court in NY for spreading the information, and for apparently obtaining Michael Cohen's bank records.

Mueller was appointed to continue an investigation into Russian intelligence agencies' work to help Trump win the 2016 election after Trump fired FBI director James Comey, who had been leading the probe. It was through Essentials Consulting that AT&T retained Cohen.

"If Mr. Ryan/Mr. Cohen dispute the receipt of almost $2MM from Columbus Nova, Korea Aero, Novartis or ATT (as opposed to insignificant amounts), they should state it NOW".

Stormy Daniels attorney Michael Avenatti has earned almost $175 million in free media during his appearances on cable outlets MSNBC and CNN over the past two months, a Washington Free Beacon analysis shows. Their contract ended this past December, the company said.

In the message to employees, AT&T said Cohen was one of several consultants the company hired to gain a better understanding of the new administration.

According to the Washington Post, it remains unclear what insight former taxi cab operator and real estate attorney could have offered or provided to AT&T.

The company also said in the fact sheet that it had been contacted late previous year about Cohen by the office of Robert Mueller, the special counsel investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 election and other matters, and had "cooperated fully" with the inquiries. It said it sought advice about how Trump and his team "might approach a wide range of policy issues important to the company, including regulatory reform at the FCC, corporate tax reform and antitrust enforcement".

The Justice Department wants AT&T to divest Time Warner's DirecTV unit or Turner networks as a condition of approving the acquisition.

The antitrust trial ended last month, and a ruling is expected by June 12.

Novartis admitted it made a costly mistake in making payments totaling almost $1.2 million to Cohen's firm.

Novartis said this week that it had provided information about its dealings with Cohen to the special counsel.

Columbus Nova was listed in November 2017 as part of the Renova Group, a conglomerate controlled by Viktor Vekselberg, a businessman with ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

"In hindsight, this must be seen as a mistake", Novartis spokesman Michael Willi told Reuters, making sure to note that the arrangement was struck under former CEO Jimenez and in no way connected to new CEO Vas Narasimhan.

Among the many funds have been $1.2 million from a subsidiary of the Switzerland-based healthcare large Novartis.

On Wednesday, two lawmakers - Democratic Sens.
