SpaceX is readying an upgraded version of its Falcon 9 rocket for launch Thursday - the first of its kind. The launch windowopens at 4:42 p.m. and closes at 6:21 p.m. There is an 80 percent probability of acceptable weather conditions. Block 5 will be the final version of the company's Falcon 9 rocket before it shifts focus on Big Falcon Rocket (BFR, a.k.a Big Fucking Rocket), which will ferry astronauts and "colonizers" to Mars. As such, Block 5 rockets have been created to conform to NASA's crew-carrying requirements.

The rocket will deliver the satellite to geostationary transfer orbit a half hour after launch. The rocket set to carry Bangladesh's Bangabandhu Satellite-1 to orbit Thursday could be the first orbital rocket ever to blast off three times. The spacecraft will provide a variety of broadcast and communications services to residents of the densely populated South Asian nation, according to French company Thales Alenia Space, which built Bangabandhu 1. SpaceX engineers have also included extra shielding at the base of the rocket to protect the booster's propulsion systems as they reenter the atmosphere.

SpaceX, founded by Elon Musk, has launched more than 50 missions on a Falcon 9 rocket since its debut in June 2010. Watch live in the player above. The satellite is expected to expand communication capabilities across Bangladesh and in India, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, the Philippines and Indonesia.

"Departing for Florida to witness historic Bangabandhu Satellite-1 launching", Zunaid Ahmed Palak, state minister for the country's Information and Communication Technology Division, said via Twitter on Monday.
