Former Playboy model free to discuss alleged Trump affair after settlement

McDougal Trump tried to pay me after intimacy

He still faces another lawsuit from Stephanie Clifford, the pornographic film actress known as Stormy Daniels.

AMI spoke out shortly after McDougal, per terms of the settlement, saying the company was "pleased that we reached an amicable resolution with Karen today that provides both sides what they wanted as a result". Trump did reimburse her for travel costs when she would fly to meet him, according to McDougal. The story never ran but under the terms of the agreement, McDougal was unable to share her story elsewhere. "The company also retains the rights to photographs of McDougal that it already has, the settlement said".

McDougal's attorney, Peter Stris, added that the settlement "makes right the wrongs that had been perpetrated against her". "We got everything we were fighting for - she got out of the contract, gets the life rights back and owes A.M.I. nothing more".

The former model, meanwhile, told the Times her "wild ride" was over and said she has no plans to sell the rights to her story to any other buyers.

"I am relieved to be able to tell the truth about my story when asked, and I look forward to being able to return to my private life and focus on what matters to me", McDougal said. Her lawsuit claimed that AMI's owner, David Pecker, was close and personal friends with President Donald Trump, and that Pecker was therefore trying to shut the story down.

The deal is now part of a federal criminal investigation into Cohen and his business dealings.

For the avoidance of doubt, neither Keith Davidson nor Michael Cohen is an AMI Released Party. A spokesman for Mr. Davidson has said the lawyer "fulfilled his obligations and zealously advocated for Ms. McDougal".

Stris said Cohen - nor anyone else purporting to represent the president - has reached out to McDougal, and he still isn't sure of the role Cohen played in arranging the deal for McDougal's silence.

"From our perspective, it's a complete win", Stracher said. "I have tremendous confidence in the men and women of the Southern District of NY", he said, referring to the federal prosecutors investigating Mr. Cohen. News of the affair broke in February when The New Yorker detailed an alleged attempt during Trump's campaign to prevent McDougal from going public about the 2006 affair. She's now free to tell her story without threat of being sued, and she can keep the $150,000 AMI paid her in 2016. Who's excited to hear every detail of her nekkid sexxytimes with Donald Trump in 2006?

The White House has denied that there was an affair.
