Israeli army reveals images allegedly showing Iran's involvement in Syria

Iran has threatened to punish Israel for its airstrikes in Syria, after reports emerged that an unnamed Israeli military official had confirmed his country was behind an attack on an Iranian drone base in Homs province.

The attack over the weekend was an important message of deterrence that the USA would stand behind its word to not tolerate the use of non-conventional weapons, said Moshe Yaalon, a former Israeli defense minister and chief of staff, in an interview with Israel Radio.

Speaking at a rally in Beirut last week, Nasrallah assured his supporters that "Iran would respond in kind to Israel's aggression", to the elation of those gathered in Beirut's southern suburbs.

Mr Bennett then sent a stark warning to "not try us", hinting Israel would send a swift military response to actions against it.

Following the increase of activity against Iranian targets in Syria, and continued threats by officials in Tehran against Israel, The Israel Project hosted a conference call with Brig. Gen. Until now, he said, Israel's warnings "fell on deaf ears" with Russian Federation, but suspected that recent escalations could make Moscow "more sensitive" to the message.

That's why Israel is now confronting Iran in Syria. Suleimani has to think twice about starting a full-scale, direct war with Israel, because of another big story many people have not noticed: Iran's currency is collapsing back home.

"We saw the Syrian children who were massacred with chemical weapons. And it has not intervened in the civil war there except to prevent the expansion of Iran's military infrastructure there or to retaliate for rebel or Syrian shells that fell on Israel's territory". The public has become accustomed to stories about the Iranian threat.

The intelligence was released after an eventful night in Syria during which Syrian air defense missile systems went off for reasons which are still unclear.

"The Iranian octopus is trying to strangle us and break our spirit".

Once again, just like Iraqis, Lebanese and Yemenis were just a simple geographic and human detail in the context of these wars, it seems that Syria itself will not be anything more than a field for major conflicts taking place at the expense of Syrians' lives. The Israeli government has targeted Iranian installations and weapons supply linesin an attempt to curb Tehran's spreading influence in the country, which has grown significantly with its support of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The confusion during the false alarm highlights growing concerns of escalation in the wake of a US -led coalition strike on Syria's chemical weapons infrastructure Saturday and an April 9 strike on an air base Israel is believed to have carried out. By establishing a military base in Syria it opens a second front connected to the one it studiously developed in Lebanon by arming its proxy, the Hizbullah.

The latest strikes may indicate a shift in Israeli policy, which previously tended to focus on arms shipments to Hezbollah and did not directly target Iranian personnel, Dalia Dassa Kaye, director of the Center for Middle East Public Policy at the Rand Corporation, told Newsweek.
