Abby Lee Miller Diagnosed With Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, A Type Of Cancer

Abby Lee Miller's Hospitalization Had 'Nothing To Do With A Back Injury'

E! News reports that the former Dance Moms star has received a preliminary diagnosis of Burkitt lymphoma, a type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma - a cancer of the lymph nodes.

"It was not an infection, it was a type of a non-Hodgkin's lymphoma - it's a type of a cancer", he states. Her doctor said they are getting an oncologist involved to determine what type of treatment she'll need but shared that "she will undergo chemotherapy or radiation".

Siwa definitely has a lot of compassion for Miller, and says that the 51-year-old reality star has been holding back her tears. In fact, in just 24 hours, her condition quickly deteriorated. Abby Lee Miller went into surgery for almost five hours for a multi-level laminectomy at Cedar Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital, and it required an 18-inch incision on her back. Fortunately, she is now doing fine after a major surgery, but she still has to undergo therapy.

According to the doctor, her situation is already life-threatening, and her blood pressure was already critically low.

According to TMZ she was taken to hospital after medics responded to a call from the Residential Reentry Centere for an "unspecified medical complaint".

Melamed also mentioned that he feels positive after his high-profile patient showed signs of regaining sensation, but also claimed that Miller is still not out of danger yet. "Most dramatic is severe muscle and bone pain in her back, shoulders, arms and legs", Dr. Russo revealed. "She had what appeared to be an infection that went from the bottom of her neck to the 11th vertebrae in the mid-part of the spine". The nearly five-hour surgery required an 18-inch incision on her back as Melamed had to remove the back part of several vertebrae to back to relieve pressure her spinal cord.

Miller was recently released from prison after serving a 366-day sentence for bankruptcy fraud, and was living at a halfway house.

Abby's surgery comes just weeks after she was hospitalised for a thyroid condition. "All you can do is pray and, as a surgeon, you maximize everything you can for the spinal cord to recover itself".

While the reality star's recovery process has the doctor more "optimistic" about things, he pointed out that she's "still not out of the woods".

In January, she posted an image on Instagram and wrote that she is sorry for the mistakes she's made and that she used her time in prison to try to better herself.
