Another was Elliot Broidy, a Trump fundraiser who resigned from the Republican National Committee on Friday after it was revealed that he paid a Playboy Playmate with whom he had an extramarital affair.

Hannity is under attack for failing to disclose his relationship with Trump's longtime lawyer and fixer despite using his show-America's most watched cable news program in 2017-to promote the president and defend Cohen multiple times.

Hannity said separately on Twitter that his discussions with Cohen "dealt nearly exclusively about real estate".

Some White House aides have even taken to viewing the Fox News host as "the unofficial chief of staff", or the "shadow" chief of staff.

Watch the reporters discuss the courtroom atmosphere at the time of the Hannity-Cohen revelation below.

Hannity responded to the news on Twitter shortly thereafter, denying that Cohen ever represented him and describing their contact as "brief discussions about legal questions". He said that Cohen has never represented him in any matter. He's never received an invoice from Cohen.

"And to be absolutely clear: They never involved any matter, any-sorry to disappoint so many-matter between me or third parties, or third groups, at all".

US District Judge Kimba Wood said in hearings on Friday and again on Monday that if Mr Cohen wanted the court to declare that the some of his files were protected because of attorney confidentiality rules, he would have to divulge the names of his clients.

But they initially declined to reveal the name of the third client.

"I might have handed him 10 bucks [and said, ] 'I definitely want your attorney-client privilege on this, ' " Hannity said on the radio. A federal judge ordered Cohen's attorney to identify another client as part of a battle of seized evidence.

If there was nothing wrong with the relationship between Hannity and Cohen, why did Cohen and his attorney ask the judge Monday if they could keep from naming the Fox host as a client in open court? She also rejected a request for a temporary restraining order that would have kept federal prosecutors from reading the information they seized last week. "He was, like, "All my questions to Michael Cohen were exclusively nearly real estate.'". "Cohen should have been getting real estate advice from you, OK", she said.

He isn't a journalist.

Officially, Fox News is standing behind Hannity.

"I mean, he has a meeting with Sean Hannity, right?" One of the reasons we are so incapable as a nation today of thinking straight about major issues is the misinformation some cable TV hosts peddle every night.
