Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 could skip single-player campaign mode

Black Ops 4

Instead the game will have an intense and expanded focus on they multiplayer mode, as well as the ever-popular Zombies mode. Sources told Polygon that the studio is working on cooperative modes "as a potential stand-in" for the standard single-player mode. What's more is that it would be developed by Raven Software known for cult classic Singularity as well as downloadable content (DLC) across the Call of Duty series. Of note, Raven Software published a tweet last month that hinted at a future announcement that could involve Black Ops 4.

As of writing, nothing has been confirmed by Treyarch or Raven Software in regard to the inclusion of "Battle Royale" in Black Ops 4, however, the genre has seen an huge amount of popularity in recent months with the likes of Fortnite: Battle Royale and other titles. Because of this, it was mentioned that Treyarch chose to instead focus on both the multiplayer and the zombies portion of the gameplay, making the cooperative experience more even more emphasized. Well sadly it sounds like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 won't have a traditional single player campaign in order to concentrate more on the game's multiplayer and Zombies modes instead.

Whether or not that means Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will never get a single-player campaign or wasn't explained.

An Activision spokesperson told Polygon in a statement that "We don't comment on rumor and speculation". They claim that they've heard from a source as well, and that source is saying that a Battle Royale Mode is coming to Call of Duty: Black IIII.
