The Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy (TJCA) baseball team earned its second win in as many days with a 5-4 victory over Bessemer City on Tuesday night at McNair Field. "My favorite part is to hit, so I was really excited to start this season".

Bridgeport (4-2) blanked visiting Barnesville, 8-0, before dropping a 11-1 verdict to Shadyside in five frames.

In the first game of the doubleheader, the Pride got another superb performance from ace Talia Loda in the circle.

Coplea allowed two earned runs on three hits and no walks while fanning a batter through four innings while Dudley yielded one earned run on four hits and one walk while striking out three batters on 1 2/3 innings.

Trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the seventh, Northlake Christian tied the game without the benefit of a hit. The inning was extended after a dropped third strike put a runner on first.

"(Trojans pitcher) Luke (Heil) struggled with his offspeed pitch early tonight", said Southwestern coach Jared Brown. The Bears loaded the bases; but once again, Loda wiggled out of trouble inducing a pop out and a groundout. Steveson pitched a scoreless two and one third innings, allowing four hits. Zoey Nantkes followed with a single to put runners on first and third with no outs.

The H-DNL boys tennis doubles championships is also scheduled to take place in Crescent City on Friday. It was great to get the win and see these guys respond the way they did.

The Tigers hit a wall early in the game, hitting just one single in the first three innings.

"Keep getting wins for my team".

The Pride were cruising, until the top of the seventh inning hit.

The 'Cats scored four runs in the fourth to cut the Beaver lead to 11-5. With one out, Victoria Junkniewitz hit a line drive double allowing Tori to score. "The atmosphere here is always really good".

After a rebuilding year a season ago, the Northlake Christian softball team is ready to make some noise.

"When you first go out there, I was just throwing high because your arm's like, it's not loose, because you stop for a minute and you're not loose anymore", Kaydo said.

After splitting the doubleheader with Coast Guard, the Pride sit at 17-6 on the year and are 4-4 in the NEWMAC. Miller and Alexis Janssen led off the half-inning with singles, and Jacquelyn Folkers' single up the middle brought home courtesy runner Emily Henson and Janssen to make it 3-2 Milledgeville.
