Liverpool's Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain says there is more to come from him

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been around for so long - he is now in his 10th season as a professional - that it is easy to forget he is still very young but it is clear he is exhausted of being talked about in terms of potential and, like the side he represents, is in a hurry to make a lasting impression.

City's manager and players were dismissive of the effect of the Anfield atmosphere on their performance but that was contradicted by the England global, who admitted he knew from experience with Arsenal how it can have a major influence.

Much criticism was made following the 24-year-old's £35m transfer from the Emirates to Anfield last summer as some believed he was not worth the price tag and that he never fully established himself in the Arsenal team.

Oxlade-Chamberlain scored an excellent goal in Liverpool's Champions League semi-final win over Manchester City this week, the biggest goal of his career.

Oxlade-Chamberlain was accused of not reaching the next level while at Arsenal, but Klopp insists the midfielder does not blame Wenger for that and only needed a change in environment.

Oxlade loved Arsene Wenger, working together six years, and he never blamed [him] for not improving enough.

"Being in a different place can sometimes be better [but] only if you are aware of your problems". That's the most important thing.

"He was not coming here and saying 'come on, make the best of me, use me in the best way".

"There were a few runs I did in the first half where I broke the line and it was just the last man I didn't manage to get past or didn't get the shot off and it is those moments where I could have had a second goal or set someone up that I can work on".

"From the first day he was ready for hard work".

Craig Bellamy thinks there could be a backlash from Manchester City following their 3-0 defeat at Liverpool in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

'And because of these new things, he experienced a different style of football.

Redknapp reckons an exit was inevitable and claims Oxlade-Chamberlain in particular has flourished since packing his bags. "It got us going and it would probably shake anyone up so you have to give fans credit for that".

"That's what we were hoping for".

'He's an outstanding talent still, still a lot of things to improve, no problem with that'.
