Liverpool depleted ahead of Merseyside derby with Everton

Seamus Coleman has called on Everton to beat Liverpool after 16 meetings without a win

The reds have suffered with defensive injuries, and saw Mo Salah withdrawn in the second half of the midweek Champions League quarter final. That's their main strength and we have to snuff it out - not just Salah. the players can do it if they really believe it.

Klopp has a raft of injuries to contend with ahead of the short trip to Everton for the 231st Merseyside derby.

And despite their healthy league position, that means there is little scope for taking their foot off the pedal when they go to Goodison Park.

'You wish you could prepare for this game with one week's training.

"We have now a problem to find players for Saturday, and everyone's telling us it's the most important game of the year, and that's quite hard".

"We do the job and people have the dreams, expectations and ambitions". With Liverpool's midfield potentially missing some of their creative players, this could be the flawless match for him to impress on a big stage this season after a series of impressive displays in the previous campaign.

There's still plenty of goals without the Egyptian, though - taking his 29 strikes out of the equation, and Liverpool still have 46 league goals this term, which is eight more than Everton have managed.

With all three goals coming within the opening half an hour, Liverpool's pressing paid off handsomely as they capitalised on mistakes forced on the City players.

"But I think it's bigger if they're playing for the title like Manchester does". But sometimes it's about changing the circumstances.

"It should be something good, and not cause you problems". This could see either Dominic Solanke or Danny Ings make a rare start in attack for the Reds while Georginio Wijnaldum should get the nod in midfield.

"I have nothing to make of Everton's season". If they struggled - I don't know if they see it like that - it was away, but now they have won at Stoke.

Worryingly for Everton, their inability to look threatening often enough - even at home in which they enjoy a good record - should make their strikeforce food and drink for Lovren, and Virgil van Dijk, if they play anywhere as near as good as they did on Wednesday.

"I think each Evertonian thinks that, at Goodison, there must be a few extra per cent of desire (in a derby)". We will be ready for hard challenges - 100 per cent.

Liverpool, on the other hand, are riding high on confidence, having lost just one game in all competitions in the last two months.

"Everton fans haven't had the derby bragging rights for nearly eight and a half years, and every Blues player will have to be on top of their game for that wait to end".

"In the last few years, it was always like that". If they are not 100% fit, they can not be involved. They can't be involved'.
