Ex-Tennessee teacher Tad Cummins pleads guilty to fleeing with minor

Ex-Tennessee teacher pleads guilty; sentencing set for September

The Warren woman believed to have been the leader of a drug-trafficking ring in Salem pleaded guilty to several of the 28 counts against her.

Tad Cummins, 51, of Columbia, Tennessee, pleaded guilty today in U.S. District Court to charges of transporting a minor across state lines for the goal of engaging in criminal sexual conduct and obstruction of justice, announced U.S. Attorney Don Cochran of the Middle District of Tennessee. His lawyer says he'll ask for a less severe sentence.

Following a previous conviction for conspiracy to sex traffic a minor, Teed failed to turn himself in January 2 to begin serving a 10-year prison term.

Some of the other co-defendants remain scheduled for a joint jury trial on Monday -Malcolm Gilford, Antonio T. Torres Jr., Susan Jones, Vincent McGary, Marvin Harsch and Pruitt.

Rollins is being held without bond pending a July 18 sentencing hearing.

The Pacific Daily News reports that the case against Timothy J. Cislo was unsealed last week after he entered a plea deal.

Meanwhile, Judge Kontos sentenced Stefan M. Steen, 19, of Warren-Sharon Road in Vienna to eight years in prison after Steen pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition for offenses committed against a girl, 15, during the summer and fall 2017.
