Connor McGregor's bail set at $50000 after alleged bus attack

Conor McGregor facing criminal charges after storming UFC press conference

MMA fighter Conor McGregor has been bailed after facing a NY court on assault charges.

Conor was set in front of a judge today where he was let off on bail and able to travel back to his home country of Ireland.

The 29-year-old was caught on video Thursday hurling a dolly through a side window of the bus as rival fighters attended a media event at the Barclays Center.

McGregor appeared in criminal court in Brooklyn, where he faced charges of assault and criminal mischief, among other related charges, according to a criminal complaint. It was not immediately known if McGregor has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.

And McGregor's own teammate, Artem Lobov (13-14-1), was pulled from his fight against Alex Caceres at the event because of his participation in the incident.

White said Friday morning that he remains stunned by McGregor's actions.

The sport's best-known athlete and an global star, McGregor, 29, was dressed in a blue, long-sleeved golf shirt that hid his elaborate tattoos as he was escorted from the police station where he surrendered the previous night. I don't think too serious. "He justified it. It was justified to him".

McGregor, who was not on the card for UFC 223, has been accused of throwing an object through a window of the bus, injuring passengers who were hit by the shattered glass.

Flyweight Ray Borg was also deemed not fit to fight, as he had received "multiple corneal abrasions". McGregor will have to check in with Judelson once a week, the bondsman said. "Obviously, the big question everybody's been asking me is, 'Are you firing Conor McGregor?'" White told the broadcaster.

According to MMA Fighting, Bellator fighter Dillon Danis posted the bail for both McGregor and Cian Cowley and both were released with video cameras and a vocal group of fans waiting.

It will be contested between Nurmagomedov and Max Holloway on Saturday.

"The organization deems today's disruption completely unacceptable and is now working on the consequences that will follow", UFC said in a statement.

McGregor hasn't fought for UFC since November 2016 and was stripped this week by White of the 155-pound championship he had never defended. Lobov was also yanked from the UFC 223 card.

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has turned himself into the New York Police Department after he and an entourage attacked a bus full of UFC fighters in an alleged attempt to get at Khabib Nurmagomedov.
