Ndamukong Suh, Los Angeles Rams Agree To Deal: NFL Fans React

Charles Harris #90 Cameron Wake #91 and Ndamukong Suh #93 of the Miami Dolphins celebrate sacking Tom Brady #12 of the New England Patriots in the fourth quarter at Hard Rock Stadium

He originally signed with Miami as an undrafted rookie free agent in 2011 out of Rutgers, played four years with the Dolphins and then spent two seasons with the New England Patriots.

The deal, which according to ESPN's Adam Schefter is worth $14 million, means the Rams will field a formidable defense next season, with the five-time Pro Bowl selection playing alongside Aaron Donald.

The 31-year-old defensive tackle is reportedly mulling over his options after meeting with three franchises this past week - the Los Angeles Rams, the New Orleans Saints and the Tennessee Titans. Despite a history of physical play on the edge of legality and sportsmanship, he is considered one of the NFL's most impressive defensive linemen, with 51 1/2 career sacks and excellent run-stopping ability. Knee and shoulder injuries limited McPhee to 22 games over the past two seasons with the Bears.

The downside would be Suh switching from his natural position in a 4-3 defence to a 3-4 in Mike Vrabel's scheme - as he would in Los Angeles too.

Suh and Aaron Donald together will be a disaster for NFC quarterbacks in 2018. The Jets also have the most money to spend under the salary cap.

Instead, the Rams won over Suh last week after a visit to their training complex and a dinner in Malibu with a front-office group including coach Sean McVay and owner Stan Kroenke.

There's a lot to be excited about Suh's signing and it could prove to be the Rams biggest move of the off-season if Suh remains healthy.

The Rams will also be wary of Suh's disciplinary record.

Los Angeles has revamped its defense with proven talent in an effort to raise its performance to the level of McVay's offense, which led the National Football League with 478 points last season in a stunning worst-to-first transformation.

With the signing of Suh and earlier acquisitions of Peters and Talib, the LA Rams may now boast the best defensive line and secondary in the league.

Suh was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. Suh has a pretty well-founded reputation as the "dirtiest player in the game".
