Disney Announces New Marvel Experiences For Theme Parks

Avengers and Other Super Heroes to Assemble at Disney Parks Worldwide

In the video above, they invite guests to become part of a bigger universe that will be filled with the heroes and adventures that have been seen on the big screen.

The new themed area will replace "A Bug's Land", based on the Disney film "A Bug's Life", so there will be no more riding in a Chinese takeout carton or spinning in Francis the Ladybug ride.

Disney Parks announced Tuesday that a Marvel-themed land will be coming to Disneyland in 2020. That new Marvel land will be anchored by Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout!

California's Disneyland isn't the only park to be getting the Avengers treatment. Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland will also get the superhero treatment with new Marvel-character attractions coming to both cities in 2020.

An attraction in Hong Kong Disneyland will allow guests to tag along with Ant-Man and the Wasp on a journey.

"We know our guests love experiencing epic action and adventure alongside the Avengers and their heroic friends".

Because of a licensing agreement with Universal for its Islands of Adventure in Orlando, Florida, that predates its purchase of Marvel, Disney doesn't have the rights to the Marvel Comics superheroes east of the Mississippi. With posters focusing on specific characters from the MCU, the experiences were developed in partnership with Marvel Studios and Marvel Themed Entertainment. The blog states that Spider-Man and The Avengers will create a completely immersive Super Hero experience, which suggests that Spider-Man will not be included in whatever Avengers-themed attractions are opening. In Hong Kong Disneyland, fans will be able to team up with Ant-Man and the Wasp on a new ride.
