Proteas hit back with six-wkt. win

Aus vs SA 2nd Test: AB de Villiers stellar knock puts Proteas in command

Rabada took the first three wickets of the fourth day - and started by ripping out Mitchell Marsh's off stump in the first over - to improve his match-haul to 11 and hurry the Australians out for 239 and another batting failure in their second innings.

"Our style of play is never wanting to swear at players and to trip them all the time", said du Plessis in the post-match press conference. He works bloody hard.

No fast bowler has come close to the number of wickets Rabada has taken in the period since he made his Test debut against India in November 2015.

"Obviously these days, the attention has changed so much to what is allowed and what is not allowed and what is within the spirit of the game. To be honest, I just let it out", he added.

"So, when he gets big wickets, that's a celebration, that's energy, that's passion".

Rabada took 5/96 and 6/54 in South Africa's six-wicket win that levelled the four-match series at 1-1 with two to play.

Rabada was also fined 50 percent of his match fee and issued three demerit points after a disciplinary hearing following his denial of the charge. The four-match series is now level at 1-1.

Prior to the second Test, Rabada was just one demerit point away from being suspended.

"I honestly still think KG will get better". Did you see that? "It's good for the game of Test cricket", said du Plessis. Did you see that?' It's Test cricket. When du Plessis was charged with ball tampering during the tour of Australia in November 2016, he chose to contest it despite clear evidence that he had a mint in his mouth at the time that he applied saliva to the ball.

The 3rd Test between them will take place in 22nd March, 2018 at Newlands Cricket Ground in Cape Town. For me, the small battles are important.

Kagiso Rabada regained his top spot among bowlers crossing the coveted 900-point mark in ratings even as Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin climbed up a couple of notches to be placed fourth in the ICC Test Player Rankings, released yesterday.

"The charge against KG is a level 2 with three demerit points, and the charge against Davey is a level 2 with three demerit points", he said.

"That was my question: why are both of these incidents labelled as exactly the same?" They called me Braveheart, etc etc. But that's where I'm sitting as a player, not as an official.

"We were outplayed in all aspects", Smith said. There are two matches are still in hand and to win the series both teams will try with their best.

"Everyone just asks for consistency. but one match referee or one umpire interprets (something differently compared to another)".

Already treading on thin ice heading into the series, a brush with Australia captain Steve Smith on day one at St George's Park landed Rabada in hot water.

"There are a lot of grey areas [in the rules]".

"I think we're going on the sensitive side with everything at the moment".

"It's not the first time Rabada has been forced to the sidelines, he was banned for the second Test against England in July a year ago after swearing at Ben Stokes, with the punishment pushing him to four demerit points. It's the same as with Lord's - I didn't try and appeal [the charge] because I knew I did it".

Bowling legend Michael Holding is fed up with ugly send-offs and sledging and has declared it's time to red card offending players out of the game.

As a sign of his pending greatness, Rabada has four 10-wicket hauls to his name from just 28 matches.
