Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald Teaser Trailer Breakdown

The first teaser trailer for Fantastic Beasts The Crimes of Grindelwald is out

Fans reacted positively to Fantastic Beasts 2 trailer that shows Beasts' debut of young Albus Dumbledore who is taking help from his former student Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to stop Grindelwald. Johnny Depp, who made a brief appearance at the end of the first Fantastic Beasts movie, will be reprising his role as the infamous wizard Gellert Grindelwald.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald is set to come to cinemas across the United Kingdom on November 16, 2018. He's often portrayed as the first "big bad" in the wizarding world, so Hogwarts may never have required such protections in a pre-Grindelwald society.

Potterheads, brace yourself as the first full-length trailer of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald has been released by Warner Bros. Dumbledore and Harry were even seen Disapparating from Hogwarts in The Half-Blood Prince - though we can hand-wave this away as, if anyone could get around the spells, it's Dumbledore. They felt nostalgic looking at Hogwarts, the world's most prestigious school of witchcraft, and the Deathly Hallows in the trailer.

With Rowling penning the screenplay for Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, however, fans had expected these inconsistencies to be ironed out by the notoriously meticulous author. "It was put in the trailer for a reason", wrote one optimistic fan. Director David Yates defended the actor and the studio plans on keeping him on board as the main villain for the Fantastic Beasts franchise. Canonically, we also know that Hogwarts: A History was written by Bathilda Bagshot sometime before 1984 - but considering her age in the Harry Potter series, it was likely written after 1927.

In the new trailer released, we're giving some sneak peeks into what we can expect from the new film.

Redmayne is joined by returning cast members Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Suodl, and Zoe Kravitz. While Dumbledore claims to the Ministry of Magic officials that Newt is not working under his orders, we know that these two are indeed working together to stop Grindelwald.
