10-man Celtic bounce back to beat Rangers once more

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers waves to the crowd at the final whistle as Celtic win 3-0 during the Scottish Cup Quarter Final match between Celtic and Greenock Morton at Celtic Park

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has hailed the "real champion mentality" of his players following Sunday's 3-2 win over Rangers in a lively Old Firm clash.

Brendan Rodgers says the title is not sealed yet but believes his side deserve to celebrate after victory over rivals Rangers.

The experienced Celtic star highlighted the team's character and desire to win the match, while also lauding how they did their talking on the pitch in what was an action-packed encounter.

After the final whistle confirmed Celtic had gone nine points clear of the Gers at the top of the table with a game in hand, Bain joined in with his team-mates as they celebrated in front of the ecstatic travelling support.

"For us to go on and win it and win it with 10 men was an vast performance".

"But the difference is I've got an opportunity to do something about it on Monday morning - making sure that group of players don't stay in the doldrums too long".

'A great victory for us and we deserved it.

The skipper said: "They talked all week and we just sat down".

"When we brought him in he's been absolutely brilliant in training but, of course, for goalkeepers it takes something to happen for them to get an opportunity".

"Bain's first involvement was to pick the ball out of his net after a awful error by Dedryck Boyata, who gifted possession to Windass".

Rangers' early joy lasted just eight minutes as Rogic replied in spectacular fashion, curling into the top corner from 25 yards.

Rangers keeper Wes Foderingham was forced into two excellent saves before the interval from Dembele and Callum McGregor.

Four minutes injury time were added on, but Rangers could not find another goal and slipped to a defeat which all but ends their hopes of challenging Celtic for the title. 2-1 to Rangers at the time of writing. Edouard had only been on the field two minutes before he collected Dembele's layoff and then cut inside to curl high into the far corner.
