New McLaren Senna Carbon Pack To Strut Its Stuff In Geneva

McLaren Senna

The car's body is covered in 67 Visual Carbon Fiber parts, which took nearly 1,000 hours to produce. It's one of five themes developed by the company's bespoke department for the road-legal track vehicle, and probably the most spectacular.

This is the McLaren Senna "Carbon Theme", a special edition of one of the most hotly-anticipated supercars of all time and the ultimate "road-legal track car" from the Woking manufacturer.

Coupled with the Laurel Green brake calipers, the yellow detailing is created to pay homage Ayrton Senna's legendary helmet and, by extension, the Brazilian flag. The Memphis Red and Vega Blue satin finish centre lock wheel nuts fitted to respectively the left- and right-hand sides of the McLaren Senna Carbon Theme vehicle are available now to MSO Bespoke order.

The Carbon Theme is a showcase for McLaren's exposed carbon-fiber treatment, because you just gotta keep up with the Paganis and the Koenigseggs in this business.

Inside, the green details extend to the gas door struts, while yellow makes its way onto the steering wheel and the ample contrast stitching throughout. Without a tyre fitted, the hub weighs just 7.5kg, a 10 percent saving on the standard wheel.

Benefitting dynamic performance by reducing unsprung weight, the carbon fibre hybrid wheels offer a 10-15 per cent reduction in rotating inertia, improving acceleration, braking and steering responses.

In its press release introducing the Carbon Black Senna, McLaren also hinted at something special at the Geneva Motor Show.

Ansar Ali, Managing Director, McLaren Special Operations, said: "With the vehicle having generated so much interest since its unveiling in December, we knew we needed to produce something very special in order to showcase the unique talents of McLaren Special Operations".

While a base Senna is priced at 750,000 pounds (about RM4 million), the Carbon Theme applied here adds a "little" under 300,000 pounds (about RM1.6 million) to the price.

McLaren will bring its hardcore, 789-horsepower Senna road auto to the Geneva Motor Show, and all 500 examples are already spoken for. McLaren says the price is justified by the fact MSO cars take significantly longer to build than standard cars.
