Metal Gear Survive devs leave a message for Kojima Productions

If it's not a traditional-style

The developers of Metal Gear Survive at Konami may no longer operate under the Kojima Productions name, but they sure managed to slip in a message of support. Many fans have wondered what a new installment in the series would look like without Kojima at the helm, and it seems the answer isn't good.

The message is early on in the game; after entering in your own character's name, you're shown a clipboard with your selection alongside a host of other names.

Taken in the context of Kojima's disagreement with Konami, these names might point to the director of Metal Gear Survive Yota Tsutsumizaki and producer Yuji Korekado. And interesting choice of prefixes for the two, if so.

It's probably worth noting that the first name on the list, Vengeful Mosquito, looks like a reference to Mosquito, a key figure in the events of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain and Ground Zeroes. Fortunately, Kojima Productions has reformed as an independent game studio and is now working with Sony on Death Stranding.

A lot has been said and written about Hideo Kojima's controversial departure from Konami back in 2015. Konami is publicly steering clear of any further controversy with the director, but did include a nod to the previous team as whole under its "special thanks" credit instead.

Metal Gear Survive doesn't live up to the series' legacy. The Japanese studio held onto the IP, and six months later it announced Metal Gear Survive.
