Ex-NFL player detained after threatening Instagram post

Threat on Social Media Prompts Harvard-Westlake to Close Studio City Campus Friday

Law enforcement officials said that while the individual they think posted the picture has been detained, "the investigation is ongoing".

He declined to confirm that the man is Martin or to explain the meaning of "detained", which he said does not necessarily mean Martin is in jail or police custody.

A source who had access to the picture said: "This seems like a joke gone horribly terrible wrong".

Martin was at the center of a bullying controversy in 2013 when he accused Incognito and Pouncey of bullying him and other teammates while he was playing for the Dolphins.

Former Dolphins OL Jonathan Martin with some seriously disturbing stuff on his IG story.

When asked if he ever wanted to talk to Incognito again, Martin told USA Today in 2016 he had "no desire" to.

In the report, the league found that Incognito and Pouncey "engaged in a pattern of harassment directed" at Martin. Incognito was part of the NFL's bullying scandal in 2013.

The 28-year-old Martin was an offensive lineman in the National Football League from 2012 to 2014.

In a posting on social media, Martin posted a picture of a shotgun and shells, with the name of his own high school #HarvardWestlake and the #MiamiDolphins listed on the gun.

Martin, 28, attended Harvard-Westlake before going on to Stanford. Harvard-Westlake School's Studio City campus was also closed.

LAPD Officer Tony Kuey told KTLA 5 that the decision to close the school was made by school officials, not the police department, although extra patrols will be in place around the campus.

"We apologize for the short notice; the safety of our students is our highest priority", the alert said. Authorities said the post mentioned Harvard-Westlake School by name.

Following a former student's threatening social media post, school administration shut down both the Upper School and Middle School due to a "security threat" Friday. "We are working closely with law enforcement and will share more information when we are able". Matt Yam, a student at the school, is quoted by the L.A. Times as saying, "Honestly it's not bad. People don't seem too anxious". In recent years, Martin has spoken to schoolchildren about his experiences with bullying and depression on behalf of Beyond Differences.
