Videos shows witnesses react to 4.9M quake as only Britons can

Dozens of people from all over the county reported feeling a tremor from the 4.4 magnitude natural disaster which hit an area 20km from Swansea at 2.32pm.

Its epicentre fell around eight miles northeast of Swansea city centre.

The UK usually experiences a quake registering 5 or higher on the Richter scale every eight years, 4-4.9 magnitude every two years and then it increases in frequency the lower it goes.

What is thought to have been the biggest quake in the United Kingdom for a decade has been felt across Cornwall.

An natural disaster shook homes and buildings across parts of Britain today.

The EMSC an Independent Scientific Organization and provider of real-time natural disaster warnings and information, said there had been over 4,000 reports from people feeling the effects of the quake, ranging from Cornwall to Liverpool.

People have taken to social media in their droves writing about feeling the quake, with some unsure as to what they had just experienced.

Reports from the US Geological Survey say it struck at 2.31pm but at a depth of llkm.

EMSC wrote on Twitter: "No damage is reported and if any should remain very limited".

A spokesman for the BGS said: "It was a reasonably-sized quake".

"The whole building just rocked", said a tweet from the club in Rhondda Cynon Taff.

People in Sheffield have reported feeling an natural disaster as a tremor has struck southwest Britain.
