Steve Kerr Lets Warriors Players Coach vs Suns

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green will miss Monday night's game against the Phoenix Suns with a sprained left index finger, the team announced.

Fifty-eight games into their season, the Suns will finally get their first look at the defending National Basketball Association champion Golden State Warriors.

"It's the players' team". He ran his team's huddles. In those two victories over the Mavs and Spurs, Golden State's bench outscored the opposition by 34.3 points per 100 possessions.

"I don't know", Kerr said, "I wasn't listening". It's not my team, it's not (general manager) Bob Myers' team, it's not (owner) Joe Lacob's team although I'm not going to tell Joe that. "As coaches, our job is to nudge players in the right direction", Kerr said. We have to have that healthy respect for them, but also understand that anybody could be beaten.

While Kerr said his decision to allow players to coach the team was meant with no disrespect, Suns foward Jared Dudley still took offense by the move.

"I embrace it. You have to get it done. But it's up to us to change that".

Phoenix (18-39) is riding a give-game losing streak but the Suns picked up plenty of optimism on Saturday night, despite losing 123-113 to Denver.

Head coach Steve Kerr has routinely joked with West this season about delaying retirement another season, saying the front office should sign him to a three-year extension.

Kerr's apparent nonchalance was immediately questioned via social media as being disrespectful to his fellow professionals on the other sideline. I like where our team is.

The Suns, at least, addressed one of their many deficiencies at last week's trade deadline when they swapped a second round pick (Memphis') for point guard Elfrid Payton. "They are exhausted of my voice. I'm exhausted of my voice", Kerr said. "They drew up some nice plays, and it was a great night for our guys". "I don't think its earth-shattering news". The line has been set at an enormous 17 points, and as comfortably as they should win, it's tough to back them to do so by more than this amount. You can give them the training and tools they need to do their best work.

Triano took it in stride. And now you can add a 40th Kerr win that's a little undeserved. "I felt it was better to kind of let the players figure things out and do things on their own". Even JaVale McGee seemed to get a turn with it.

I liked how Elfred played in his first Suns appearance. If I was a coach, I'd do that throughout the year, so I wouldn't even look at it as disrespectful. "I'll say something insane". So I can see doing it again one time, a couple times.
