West Ham v Watford: Hornets can add to Hammers' problems

Former professional footballer Jimmy Bullard joins in with the training during media access to Sutton United FC ahead of their FA Cup 3rd round match against AFC Wimbledon on January 5

West Ham United manager David Moyes said he had no qualms about signing Patrice Evra and that he understands why the defender kicked a fan who abused him. "We had half chances to score but not clear".

The left-back has joined on a free transfer until the end of the season, and is in contention to play against Watford at the London Stadium tomorrow. However, a combination of excellent goalkeeping from Adrian, disciplined defending from West Ham and some weird decisions by Watford's front men, they were unable to capitalise.

David Moyes is unbeaten in his four home league matches against Watford, winning three and drawing the other.

Watford actually carved open the first opportunities of an open game, Etienne Capoue with a shot deflected over and, from the corner, Adrian Mariappa's header forcing a smart save from Hammers goalkeeper Adrian.

They have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight league fixtures since a three-match run without conceding a goal in December.

"I wasn't so happy with our second half". And on Saturday at the London Stadium, they indeed received just that.

"We want more ups than downs, the supporters want more ups than downs and we have had a few too many downs and and not enough ups and we know we need to do better".

But moments later West Ham's pressure finally told when, not for the first time, Michail Antonio tore past Daryl Janmaat and crossed for the unmarked Hernandez to nod in his third goal in five games. Our counter-attacks and chances, we should have taken the game far away.

The draw is priced up at [3.4] which is also potentially tempting considering West Ham have been held in their last two home games. - This was the first game the Mexican had scored in this season that the Hammers went on to win (W1 D2 L3).

David Moyes has claimed that he did not expect to steer West Ham United to the brink of the top 10 of the Premier League table.

The Austria worldwide has been absent from the Hammers' last three games because of a hamstring injury he picked up against Bournemouth on January 20.
