BJP prepares to brand PM Modi a 'global legend'

Narendra Modi and Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas

In Amman, Modi discussed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and other topics with Jordanian King Abdullah II.

Modi tweeted Friday that he is looking forward to talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and "reaffirming our support for the Palestinian people and the development of Palestine".

The visit will also de-hyphenate Israel and Palestine after Modi's standalone visit to Israel last July. He had visited the UAE in 2015.

The presidency announced that president Abbas and his guest, the Indian prime minister, will hold a session of important talks, which will address the latest developments in the political process in the region because of India's worldwide stature, it said.

BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, who has compiled the magazine-format booklet of about 60 pages, said "positive" coverage of Mr Modi's foreign visits in global media have underlined that "his leadership has been acknowledged not only in India but also across the world".

"The Palestinian presidency welcomed the historic and important visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the city of Ramallah on Saturday, the first of an Indian prime minister to Palestine", according to the official Palestinian news and information agency "WAFA". We enjoy vibrant multi-dimensional ties with the countries there.

On the last leg of his trip, Modi would travel to Oman from February 11-12.

Modi will then visit UAE and will hold talks with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi.

He would also interact with leading businesspersons of Oman on developing stronger economic and business links with India. "The Indian diaspora is a bridge of friendship between India and the Gulf countries".

Modi will straightaway head for a large community event at a stadium in the Omani capital.
