Mkhitaryan Opens Up About Relationship With Aubameyang

Henrikh Mkhitaryan Pierre Emerick Aubameyang Arsenal

What an impressive debut from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Aubameyang was preferred to Alexandre Lacazette up front and looked at home from the start, playing a clever reverse pass in the sixth minute to release his old Dortmund team-mate Mkhitaryan, whose low cut-back was hooked into the net by Aaron Ramsey.

Laurent Koscielny was also on target to make it 4-0 at half time and ruined Theo Walcott's return to the Emirates as he was substituted on the hour mark with the visitors outclassed.

Wenger had suggested Aubameyang might not feature against Sam Allardyce's over-matched side due to illness, but the Gabon striker completed 90 minutes.

Ramsey was flawless and exuberant and the fact that he popped up in the right areas enabled him to bag a hat-trick.

"(Mkhitaryan) is a good link player and he works very hard as well.

Granit Xhaka and Aaron Ramsey could continue in central midfield but Wenger may decide to sacrifice Mohamed Elneny as a defensive midfielder to give the Gunners more attacking options.

The Gunners looked to gain confidence and within minutes they grabbed a second.

Alex Iwobi played well. The youngsters played in Ramsey and the Welshman was allowed to shoot from 25 yards.

It was 3-0 before 20 minutes had elapsed, Arsenal waltzing through the centre of Everton's midfield easily before Ramsey's effort from 25 yards took a deflection off Mangala that meant Pickford couldn't prevent the shot from finding the net.

Cech isn't getting better with age any longer and Arsenal probably need to look for his replacement in the summer.

In the 37th minute, Gabon global Aubameyang chipped Pickford to score the fourth goal for Arsenal after being teed up by Mkhitaryan who assisted once again.

The former England boss' attempt to play three in defence - after making five changes from midweek - had failed and was epitomised by a litany of errors from Keane, Mangala and Williams. Well, at least Oumar Niasse didn't, sliding to put a ball off the post in a characteristic relentless effort. Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored for the Toffees.

He headed home from Martina's cross but it was little more than the Blues salvaging a sliver of pride following their abject performance. Mkhitaryan and Ramsey combined again with fifteen minutes remaining, and the Armenian, as if to remind Jose Mourinho and Man United exactly what they'd be missing supplied his third assist of the evening to set up the Welsh midfielder for his hat trick.
