Mahrez To Join Man City Before Window Closes?

Mahrez To Join Man City Before Window Closes?

Leicester manager Claude Puel admitted his team lacked a clinical edge against Swansea in the absence of Riyad Mahrez.

Riyad Mahrez has "outgrown" Leicester City and should have been allowed to join Manchester City in the January transfer window, former Foxes midfielder Robbie Savage has said.

The Sun says the Foxes winger went AWOL after his move to Manchester City broke down on deadline day.

Leicester are unbeaten in their last 13 home games against Swansea in all competitions.

"All of our management with Riyad will be between the club, the player and myself", said Puel.

Swansea, on the other hand, came to the King Power on the back of consecutive confidence boosting league victories against Liverpool and Arsenal as their battle for Premier League safety continued.

City tabled multipled unsuccessful bids for the 26-year-old this week as Pep Guardiola sought to strengthen his squad after the serious injury suffered by Leroy Sane at the weekend.

However, the Frenchman has stated that the forward will be assessed when 'he has cleared his head'.

"I think it's the best decision for the club after the position with Riyad".

The Gunners have revived their interest in the Algerian and would be willing to meet Leicester's demands to get the man who they have been chasing for about three seasons now.

"All the staff and players here will help him come back with a good mentality and a positive attitude to enjoy his football with his team-mates".

"Leicester are not going to finish in the top four and they are not going to go down, so I don't understand why they were not prepared to let him go for £60m".

Mahrez has been a key player for Leicester as they have lost just one of their last seven games in all competitions.

"We had to score another goal in the first half because it was a good period with quality for us, but Swansea defended very well". We need to stay united after all this.
