The world's largest smartphone vendor releases dozens of new smartphones every year in nearly every price segment.

The Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ will be announced at the end of the month and released in March.

Folks at XDA Developers have found a long list of code-names for unreleased handsets hidden in the leaked Android 8.0 Oreo beta build for the Galaxy Note 8. The wholesaler, on its website, lists battery replacement for the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9 Plus. A separate report also talks about the rumoured Galaxy S9 "Active" variant. Samsung further confirmed it by adding star in the file name of its MWC event invitation. The listing also shows the images of the batteries of both the smartphones as well. The codes also indicate that there will be the Galaxy C10, Galaxy J4, Galaxy J6, and Galaxy Tab S4 among other devices.

Both the handsets are expected to share other key specifications, including the Exynos 9810 processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 for U.S. market) and camera.

Meanwhile, a support page for Samsung Galaxy S9 was made live in Germany. The device would have the same 5.8-inch OLED screen as the regular Galaxy S9.

Other smartphones on the race for the update are: Samsung Galaxy A3 (2017), Galaxy A5 (2017), Galaxy A7 (2017), Galaxy A8 (2016) SM-A810, Galaxy J3 (2017), Galaxy J5 (2017), Galaxy J7 (2017), Galaxy J7+, Galaxy J7 Duos (2017), Galaxy J7 Max, Galaxy J7 Neo, Galaxy J7 Prime, Galaxy Note FE, Galaxy S7, and Galaxy S7 Edge. The S9 Plus' battery capacity is 200mAh more than that of the S8 Plus. Active smartphones were previously AT&T exclusives, but last year's Galaxy S8 Active also launched on T-Mobile.

The leaks give us a relatively close-up look at the rear fingerprint sensor, the main camera module, and the battery which will power the device.

Separately, tipster Roland Quandt took to Twitter to post pictures of fingerprint and camera sensors on the Galaxy S9.
