Arizona man says he sold ammunition to Las Vegas shooter

Vegas Shooting Records Show 2 People of Interest

Haig answered the door at his Mesa residence on a quiet street filled with one-story stucco homes near Greenfield Road in the suburb east of Phoenix. The official spoke anonymously because they weren't authorized to disclose case information. A LinkedIn account that appears to belong to him says he also works at a company called Specialized Military Ammunition.

The company's webpage says the business is closed indefinitely.

#JudgeTimothyWilliams rules autopsy reports are a public record in hearing on a petition from LVRJ & AP for the Coroner to provide records related to #1October.

Douglas Haig told Newsweek he was questioned by agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives after the October 1 shooting.

In addition to the autopsy draft for shooter Stephen Paddock, records for all 58 victims will be released.

"They asked me a bunch of questions", Haig told the magazine in an interview that wasn't published until Tuesday.

Haig said Paddock told him he was going to put on a "light show" with the tracer ammunition he bought.

According to the documents, for the first time, an additional "person of interest" in the massacre on the Las Vegas Strip was identified.

Haig told CBS News he had nothing to do with the shooting, and previously indicated to Newsweek that the transaction with Paddock happened two years ago. The Las Vegas Review-Journal was the only publication that received a copy of a document that had Haig's name unredacted.

Doug Haig, who lives in Mesa, Arizona, says he sold ammunition to Stephen Paddock.

Mr. Haig's whereabouts was unknown and he could not be reached for comment.

The FBI and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department did not immediately respond to BuzzFeed News' questions about Haig. At the time of the mass shooting she was in the Philippines and is cooperating with the investigation.

She was initially considered a person of interest but authorities later said she is not likely to face criminal charges. Haig's identity became known Tuesday, but it's not clear if Haig was the person Lombardo had referenced. A Federal Bureau of Investigation spokesman could not immediately be reached for comment.

TheLas Vegas Review Journal reports that a search warrant written in the early hours of October 2 contradicted long-held claims by investigators that Paddock was dead before any officers entered his room. While the documents did not reveal any details about the suspects in the case, one of the pages revealed Haig's name.

Additionally, Judge Timothy Williams ordered the Clark County coroner to release Paddock's autopsy records, as well as the people killed in the gunfire with the names of the victims redacted.

Neither the police, the Federal Bureau of Investigation nor the United States attorney's office have commented on whether Haig is still considered a person of interest in the investigation, however Las Vegas sheriff Joe Lombardo said earlier this month that investigators believed Paddock had acted alone.

The records were obtained after media organizations including The Associated Press sued to unseal court records and autopsy reports.

Fudenberg maintains the records are confidential, and restricts release to families and to police investigating deaths.
