Trump uses crude term while attacking protections for immigrants

President Trump Holds Roundtable On Prison Reform In Roosevelt Room Of White House

The Haitian government has reportedly summoned a United States official to explain why President Donald Trump used obscene language in relation to several nations, including Haiti, El Salvador and some African countries. If it's wrong, well, it's par for the course regarding how the news media covers this White House.

Donald Trump often struggles to remember what he supports when it comes to the nitty-gritty details of policy.

The president went on to say that the country should instead bring more people from countries like Norway.

In response to the reported "shithole countries" comments, the White House did not deny that the president used the phrase.

When lawmakers in the meeting floated restoring Temporary Protected Status for some immigrants, Trump grew frustrated and shocked the lawmakers with his "s***hole" comment in reference to African countries and Haiti, according to the Post.

"He will always reject temporary, weak, and unsafe stopgap measures that threaten the lives of hardworking Americans, and undercut immigrants who seek a better life in the United States through a legal pathway", the statement concluded.

The reported comments come as Trump and lawmakers are in negotiations over immigration reform.

Since he kickstarting his presidential campaign in 2015 by branding Mexican migrants "rapists", Trump has made tackling illegal immigration from Latin America a key plank of his politics. The Dems will threaten 'shutdown, ' but what they are really doing is shutting down our military, at a time we need it most.

Sen. Orrin Hatch, also from Utah, said Thursday he wants Trump to explain his comments. "I would not talk about nations like this, because I believe the people of those countries are made in the image of God and have worth and human dignity".

The lawmakers had hoped he would back the accord, an agreement among six senators evenly split among Republicans and Democrats, ending a bitter dispute over protecting the "Dreamers".

And of course, there's no reason for Trump's administration to deny that he said it. White House officials did not dispute the account. Chris Van Hollen said he was "disgusted", while Sen. The preliminary document is being worked out by a bipartisan group of six senators, and would also involve Trump's request for $1.6 billion (€1.3 billion) to build the first section of his wall on the border with Mexico. Bob Goodlatte, R-Va.

The exchange was "salty" on all sides, this person said, with the president growing profane and animated while discussing immigrants from other countries. "Language like that shouldn't be heard in locker rooms and it shouldn't be heard in the White House".
