Princess Charlotte Photos Show Adorable Tot Off to Nursery School

The princess will be a full-time pupil at Willcocks Nursery School which charges fees of just over £3,000 a term for pupils attending its Monday to Friday morning school

"We are delighted that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have chosen the Willcocks Nursery School for Princess Charlotte", a spokesperson for the school said in December.

But something else was undeniably noticeable in Princess Charlotte's pictures: her uncanny resemblance to her great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.

Now, at two and a half, she has another milestone-her first day at the Willcocks Nursery School.

In the pictures, the fourth in line to the throne is wearing a coat and scarf and what appears to be a rucksack.

Unlike previous senior royals, Prince William attended nursery school as a child and son George made the step up from nursery to primary school in September when he began at Thomas's Battersea, a private school in southwest London.

It is rated outstanding by Ofsted and described by Tatler magazine as a "hidden gem".

The nursery school, founded in 1964, is housed in a church hall just a short walk from Kensington Palace.

It is not the first time that pregnant Kate, 36 on Tuesday, has taken official photographs herself. The four-year-old prince was accompanied on his first day by his father, William.

"We look forward to welcoming Charlotte to our nursery".

Charlotte's older brother Prince George went to preschool at Westacre Montessori School in Norfolk and is now in kindergarten in London.

Charlotte will be full-time at Willcocks, at a cost of more than $AUD5000 per week.
