Consumers Spent Billions On Apple Inc. (AAPL) App Store This Holiday Season

Apple has achieved a new milestone as it kicks off 2018 with record-breaking sales on its App Store.

App Store sales were robust during the holiday period, hitting $890 million during the seven-day period starting December 24, Apple said.

"We are thrilled with the reaction to the new App Store and to see so many customers discovering and enjoying new apps and games".

Developers who make apps for iOS earned $26.5bn in 2017, Apple said in a statement on Thursday, as users snapped up breakout hits including games like Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, and Monument Valley 2. Pokemon GO went back to the top of the charts on 21 December when it introduced AR features based on Apple's ARKit framework. Other popular AR game titles include CSR Racing 2, Stack AR and Kings of Pool. Buddybuild counts high-profile clients such as The New York Times and Mozilla, somehow giving a clue on the company's competent services and explaining why Apple took notice. Other popular apps installed often past year were meditation app Calm, video editor Enlight Videoleap, password manager 1Password and streaming video provider Hulu.

Since the inception of the App Store in July 2008, iOS developers have earned over $86 billion. Today, Apple leads the world in innovation with iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV. According to industry experts, the latest acquisition has been done to further strengthen the company's iOS development platform.Buddybuild revealed the deal on its official site and indicated that as a direct result of the buyout initiated by Apple, there will be key changes to expect. Apple's more than 100,000 employees are dedicated to making the best products on earth, and to leaving the world better than we found it.
