Four killed in Kabul blast

Afghanistan

The blast follows an attack fended off during an hours-long gun battle a week ago at a Kabul training facility of the agency.

The U.S. Embassy and North Atlantic Treaty Organisation headquarters are also located in the area.

The attacker was on foot and blew himself up when workers were going to their offices.

Afghan security forces remove a destroyed vehicle on Monday.

"They were hit when they were passing the area in their Toyota sedan vehicle".

The attack took place at about 8am local time after a suicide bomber detonated his explosives close to an NDS office in Shash Darak area close to Abdulhaq Square, according to officials.

Qari Yusouf Ahmadi, a Taliban spokesman, claimed responsibility for the attack in Helmand.

There was no initial claim of responsibility.

Security in the capital has been ramped up since May 31, when a truck bomb ripped through the city's diplomatic quarter, killing about 150 people and wounding hundreds, mostly civilians.

The assault came to an end after forces successfully killed two attackers. At least five people were left wounded. Islamabad denies the allegations.
