Feds want Shkreli's Wu-Tang Clan album

The Governments Wants To Seize Martin Shkreli's One-Of-A-Kind Wu Tang Album

Martin Shkreli might have to hand over his one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang album, and Lil Wayne's "Tha Carter V" if the feds get their way - but that's the least of his problems.

The so-called "Pharma Bro" - once dubbed the "most hated man in America" - was convicted of fraud in August and remains in custody after having his bail revoked over threatening comments made about Hillary Clinton on social media.

Splash News/NewscomLawyers for the USA government are asking a judge to order the forfeiture of millions of dollars' worth of noted "pharma bro" Martin Shkreli's assets, including an unreleased, one-of-a-kind Wu-Tang Clan album.

Brooklyn prosecutors asked the federal courts to seize more than $7 million in assets from the 34-year-old criminal. In a letter to judge Kiyo Matsumoto, who presided over the case, they said that this amount "represents a conservative computation of the proceeds Shkreli personally obtained as a result of his three different securities fraud crimes of conviction". They are also hoping to seize a Picasso painting and an original Enigma machine, which Shkreli has described as a "Nazi relic" as it was used by the German military in the second world war. The album was reportedly set for release before label drama between Wayne and Cash Money co-founder Birdman caused the album to be shelved.

Shkreli's attorney, Ben Brafman, tells TMZ, "Our position is clear". He then listed the item on eBay in a September 2017 auction, receiving bids in excess of $1 million, though it's unclear whether the purchase went through. "Accordingly, forfeiture of any assets is not an appropriate remedy".
