Trump insults Native Americans at event to honor group

Trump makes 'Pocahontas' slur at Native American ceremony

Every day brings a new disturbing action by this man we call president.

During remarks praising their service, he said: "You were here long before any of us were here".

"You're very, very special people".

The President, standing beside three Najavo code talkers and a portrait of former president Andrew Jackson, made the comment in reference to Warren's heritage, which the Democrat Senator on numerous occasions has said has Native American roots.

Eric Trump tweeted on Tuesday what appeared to be a comparison of President Trump calling Sen.

Norm Eisen, who served as Barack Obama's Special Counsel for Ethics and Government Reform, shared a video of the moment Mr Trump branded Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren "Pocahontas".

She told the Associated Press in 2012 that her parents told her (and her siblings) that they had Native American heritage. Why did he feel the need to say something that is offensive to many people while honoring the Navajo code talkers? Scott Brown (R), the Boston Herald found that she was listed as a "minority law teacher" in law school directories from the Association of American Law Schools from 1986 to 1995.

President Donald Trump, right, meets with Navajo Code Talkers Peter MacDonald, center, and Thomas Begay, left, in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, Monday, Nov. 27, 2017.

"You were here long before any of us were here", said Trump, addressing the veterans from a podium placed in front of a portrait of former U.S. president Andrew Jackson. "What Trump displayed today was an embarrassment to our values and a disgraceful insult to the heroes of our history".

Dine Code Talkers secretary Debra Klecan posted on Facebook that the White House ceremony was the first time she had ever heard disparaging comments made against the Code Talkers. Warren was very offensive when she lied about something specifically to advance her career.

"It is deeply unfortunate that the president of the United States can not even make it through a ceremony honoring these heroes without having to throw out a racial slur", Warren shot back during an interview with the MSNBC television network.

"I feel that the way it was used, yes, it was [a racial slur]", Begaye told CNN.

Look, is it amusing that Warren once claimed Native American heritage?
