CBS This Morning is reportedly 'begging' Oprah to replace Charlie Rose

Gayle King has told she Stephen Colbert she'winced through his series of jokes about sex pest Charlie Rose on Monday night

"Despite Charlie's important journalistic contribution to our news division, there is absolutely nothing more important, in this or any organization, than ensuring a safe, professional workplace - a supportive environment where people feel they can do their best work", the memo said.

She continued, "I take a step back and I breathe and I say, 'OK, what's the intention here?' I don't bolt".

CBS News is also reporting there is an additional allegation that Rose grabbed the rear of a woman who worked with Rose on 60 Minutes II.

"To be honest with you, it still isn't easy", King said. "It's still very painful, it's still very hurtful. We had a company meeting this afternoon; everybody gathered in the conference room", she said. I'm still wrapping my brain around that. But again, I go back to what these women are going through.

Colbert asked if she thought the recent string of sexual assault, harassment and misconduct allegations would eventually fade away. That's hard.' Then I think about what these women were going through. They're now being believed!. That's big! That's big! But it has to be more than just a bunch of women talking about this issue. "We need to be such a place".

Another woman has come forward with a sexual misconduct allegation against the disgraced television anchor, and this claim hits a new level of inappropriateness.

Rose was sacked by CBS News, PBS and Bloomberg TV after a Washington Post report in which eight women accused him of sexual misconduct ranging from groping to lewd comments to strutting around naked in their presence. He added that some of the allegations, though, weren't accurate. "I am greatly embarrassed".

"In my 45 years in journalism, I have prided myself on being an advocate for the careers of the women with whom I have worked", Rose said in a statement. "I always felt that I was pursuing shared feelings, even though I now realize I was mistaken", he said in his statement.
