Second Woman Claims Al Franken Groped Her

Woman accuses Franken of groping during photo op

Franken's former constituent Lindsay Menz told CNN he grabbed her while they were posing for a photo at the 2010 Minnesota State Fair.

The woman, Lindsay Menz, said the incident with Franken was "uncomfortable" and made her feel "gross", CNN reported.

In a response, Franken said yesterday, "I take thousands of photos at the state fair surrounded by hundreds of people, and I certainly don't remember taking this picture".

Franken's office says that the senator has no recollection about his interaction with Menz, but it said that he felt sorry that she came away from their interaction feeling disrespected.

The allegation follows a an article published Thursday in which Leeann Tweeden, a radio news anchor in California, wrote that Franken forcibly kissed her in 2006. The scandal has left Franken facing a Senate ethics investigation and calls to resign. "She was in full on my buttocks", she said. "It was wrapped tightly around my butt cheek". "I don't want to paint my story in the same light as hers", Menz said, saying she believes what happened to Tweeden is much worse.

Husband Jerry Menz told CNN that Franken "reached around her and kind of pulled her into him". He pulled her in and pushed his head against her head. You just feel gross.

"I was upset", said husband Jeremy Menz after the incident.

As for why Menz chose to speak out now, she said: "The reason I want to say something is if someone sees that I said something, maybe it would give them the courage to say something, too".

In the photo of Menz and Franken, the side of the senator's face is pressed up against Menz's but the lower halves of their bodies are not shown. Tweeden's account occurred before Franken was a senator, which cast some doubt on how the ethics panel would conduct an inquiry. He said of his own interaction: "As a matter of practice, I did that all the time". She says she immediately told her husband that Franken had "grabbed" her bottom. He has since apologized to her but added that he remembers their encounter differently. She accepted his apology, telling CNN's Jake Tapper that she thought it was "heartfelt".
